Hey peeps! Hope you’re all very well? Okay, before I talk about today’s outfit I must point out that Carmakoma (who the skirt is by, I bought it a couple of years ago) have…

DELIVERY.

Like seriously, you have until May 1st to grab what you can! The thing with Carmakoma is because they are a designer and independent, their prices are higher than our fave retail places. Their clothes are so good and such great quality though that it’s like an investment. This skirt for example I bought and I intend to pass down to my grandkids!

Really, though, the star of this outfit is the vest, which was sent to my by the team at One Stop Plus. I didn’t realise but I got the biggest size (20/22) however it’s pretty stretchy so I think someone a bit bigger than me could work it, too. The material is so soft you forget you’re wearing it! I just love the mermaid green colour (it also comes in brown). The only wee issues are the sequins can get a little scratchy if you’re not wearing a cardigan, and as with all sequin embellished clothes you shed a tiny trail of glitter wherever you go. But I kinda like that.

Here’s me trying to be a cool hairy feminist although it doesn’t quite suit me, does it? Also, my armpit hair is so fine you can’t even see it! Oh well.

For reference, here’s me wearing the vest in a more daytime friendly way, with a different skirt and cardigan:

Thanks, OSP! What do you think?

Love it! Wish it went big enough for me I’ve been hunting a sequin top for ages…

I love green and teal colors on you, they suit you so well! This vest is awesome and it is great when it feel comfy and not so itchy, I hate that when it comes to sequins.

I have that top but in a taupish color. Love it too but like you said the sequins are really scratchy. :( Haven’t worn it yet since I don’t have a cardigan that would match it. I really like the teal color of yours though.

Aww that’s a shame, I think you could make some lovely outfits with the taupe version!

That colour makes me squee – sparkly green makes me think of mermaids!

I know :D mermaid green is the best kind of green!

I think I like the daytime look better, but I really do love the look of this mermaidesque top! Fun – & a GREAT color for you.

Ughhh, I almost just bought, like, three things from Carmakoma, but they don’t do returns on sale items, & when they do take returns, the customer pays shipping. I can only imagine what US to Denmark shipping is! Bummer.

Oh no, what a shame! :(

  • Lillian Low

You look adorable! I love both looks, you look so fun in the first one and really elegant in the second :)

  • Lucy

I was getting so confused till I remembered a British vest is an American tank! What do you call American vests there then? >_> You look gorgeous, I especially love the top pulled out. It’s such a pretty color!

    • http://pocketrocketfashion.com Lauren

Haha! We call a US vest a waistcoat over here :D x

This is amazing Lauren and you’ve just reminded me I have a Madonna skirt too, which I’ve not worn in ages.
How is the underarm itch on the tank? Are the sequins scratchy?

    • http://pocketrocketfashion.com Lauren

They are a bit, although seeing how cold it is you’d need a cardigan, and that’ll help :)

You look amazing in this sea green color. I like both looks!

I hate, hate, hate itchy sequins – especially under the arms. But I think leaving a trail of glitter in my wake would be worth it… I think I need to do that. Such a great visual!

It’s annoying, but worth it for all that sparkle… ;)

  • Emmiveera

I adore this look, anything with any sort of sparkle and I’m hooked. I love this mermaid green color, such a fabulous color. That carmakoma skirt is such perfection, I’ve been looking for a skirt like that forever and cannot find one anywhere – grr.
