Hello my dears! Have you all been enjoying the snow? I managed to get to work every day without falling on my arse, which was great. Although on Tuesday a dog almost attacked me – I was wearing my fake fur coat, and I think it thought I was another dog. Make of that what you will…

After I’d gotten really over excited and blogged about the new label One One Three, I decided to put my money where my mouth was and buy something for myself. I went for this red shirt as it was one of those cases where I instantly knew what I wanted to wear it with and that I’d get my money’s worth. The most amazing thing happened though – I’d worked late and then met friends in the pub, and when I got home it turned out that the designer herself hand delivered it! How lovely is that?! I was so sad I missed it. The top itself is bloody gorgeous, and the cut, fabric and tailoring are second to none. It’s more expensive than my bargain-hunter-ness usually allows, but it’s worth every penny.

The outfit reminds me of the Burger Queen staff uniform, which is why I love it so much! Is anyone going this year? I can’t wait!

I’m so in love with these tights, too! I sized up and I think that was a good decision (as I like them to be hoiked up under my bosom). More patterns, please!

Tonight I’m off to hang out with some fabulous blogger babe’s at Bethany’s (My Arched Eyebrow) club night tonight. Yay!

Hi Lovelies! How are you? It’s a SNOWPOCALYPSE here in Essex (and the rest of the UK, to be fair). I am celebrating by a) doing none of the things I had planned to do, b) not getting dressed and c) alternating between watching Community or playing Temple Run 2. Best weekend ever?

This outfit on its own isn’t advisable in the snow, but it is something I’ve been wearing a lot over Christmas. I am a sucker for a skater dress, sad as it is to say. I know they’ve become slightly too ubiquitous in plus size ranges at the moment to the annoyance of some (hi Amanda!) but, ah, I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel at home in them. This one from New Look has a high waist as well, which is perfect. And since it was a last minute sale buy in their Oxford Street branch, I’ve gotten my cost-per-wear down to mere pennies. Win/win!

I’m hoping to be a bit more prolific in my updates this year and better at photographing my outfits – but if there’s anything you think I should do or talk about, let me know. Speak soon! x

pug life

Me (as always), stands in front of a black wardrobe with a mint green button up shirt, black skirt, heels and a mint green bag. I have one hand on my hip

Shirt: ASOS Curve

I appear to be regressing fast in 2013, which is scary when I think about just how old I’m going to be in a couple of months (29! Wahhh!) – and as soon as I saw this adorable shirt emblazoned with cute little pups I had to order straight away. I was a bit sad that Klee pointed our that it’s actually a print of French Bulldogs, not pugs – naughty ASOS! – but the gorgeous colour and style is enough for me to absolutely love it anyway.

The bunny bag is another favourite of mine. I always forget to photograph my bags but I think this one is lovely. Although, it’s really bulky and so I have developed a bad habit of knocking into walls and tourists as I make my way to and from work. Oops.

A word on the fit: I’m not particularly well endowed in the bosom area, and even I have found the shirt gaping at the bust a little. It’s also a bit snug around the hips but because I’m tucking it into a skirt, this doesn’t really matter. Hope that helps!

pug life

Me as before, in a slightly different pose and a wee smile on my face. I’ve also ditched the bag.

Just wanted to add another photo to prove that I do smile, honest guv! It’s quite funny how I’m always looking serious in my blog posts – if you meet me in real life, you know I’m anything but.

Hope you’re all well, my dears!

So that was 2012… A year of living fatly and proudly!

vshoot1

Hello all, and more importantly: happy new year! My 2013 so far has been a bit sleep-deprived, but hopefully that won’t be a trend, eh?

I had an almost abnormally good year in 2012. I found a great job, caught up with old friends, took part in Burger Queen (you can see me, neck-less, talking in their funding vid!), had a long awaited holiday (even if it did rain for over half the time I was there) and met some absolutely incredible people. The best thing though? I got my blogging mojo back! And it paid off – one of my plus size fashion heroes, Velvet d’Amour, shot me for her magazine Volup2. I was interviewed in The Times, and my literal dream has come true in the form of being able to design a dress for an upcoming Simply Be collection. ACTUALSCREAM. I will talk more about it in a separate post, but I really hope you all like it.

But more importantly I was happier with my wardrobe than I’ve been in a long time. I actually think I wore some more interesting outfits in 2012 than in all the time I’ve been blogging – probably because I was leaving the house a lot more. Anyway, here are my favourites over the past year, in case you missed them first time round!

Eddy and Bri dress

I’ve got a lot on my plate for 2013, no less than moderating a discussion panel at LPSFW next month, and helping to organise this year’s Plus London 3 in November! I just hope I can keep on enjoying running this blog. Thanks so much for sticking with me through 2012, and I hope you have a fat and fabulous 2013! x

Jumper #3: Sweetheart, it’s Christmas

Necklace: birthday gift

Headband: Primark

Hello my dears! So excited for it being nearly Christmas! I promised you a week full of jumpers, so here’s my last one, this gorgeous and office-appropriate number from Simply Be. As soon as I saw it in the catalogue I knew I had to have it.

2012-12-15 15.00.58

Image: as before, but I have my hands on my hips and look slightly perturbed.

My necklace was a birthday present my friend clubbed together and bought me – I find out where it was from but have since forgotten! I really love Joy Division and I also do find how seriously people take them hilarious (this mock up of Ian Curtis playing the Nintendo Wii is my number one page on the internet, EVER). I love and wear it a lot, although I did break it once when I was playing dodgems, oops.

I’m going to try and do another post before Christmas, but I hope you all have a lovely week with your loved ones (family, friends or otherwise) no matter what you celebrate. xx

Jumper #2: BAM!

Jumper: Primark
Skirt: F21+

A super quick one from me tonight, as I’m trying to pretty myself up for tomorrow’s work Christmas party. But the jumper kinda speaks for itself, doesn’t it? I think it’s perfect!

It’s jumper week! First up: <3s

2012-12-15 14.45.51-1

Image: me (short, fat, pale caucasian, long dark hair and glasses) stands wearing a jumper with pink hearts all over it and black accessories. I have one hand on my hip and am smiling.

Jumper: Primark
Skirt: F21+
Boots: Peacocks (many years ago)
Brooch: Tatty Devine sample sale
Glasses: London Retro*

Nah, it’s not a brand tie in or a new blog theme, but since the only clothing I’ve wanted to indulge in is things that’ll keep me warm, I figured I’d dedicate the week to showing off the more exciting jumpers in my collection.

2012-12-15 14.45.34-2

Image as before, but I’ve taken my hand off my hip! Still smiling, though.

This is my favourite – the colours are a bit washed out but the hearts are this perfect bubblegum pink. Annoyingly this is from Primark (I work opposite the Oxford Circus branch – you can only imagine the drain on my bank account this is having) which stops at 20, although it’s pretty roomy as it’s supposed to be oversized. I have spied a similar jumper at Ax Paris as well, which runs to a 26 and is also oversized if you fancy it!

I hope you are all really well and looking forward to the festive season. It’s annoying that I’ve not had the time to update, because there is so much I want to say and no time to sit down and say it. Back with jumpers 2 and 3 later in the week. Take care! x

Image: as before, in a slightly different pose

This is an outfit that I feel looks better in real life than in photos. Or it could be my not-so-good camera! I have to say winter really does sort the men out from the boys, photography-wise. It’s always so dark, and my camera can’t cope with anything other than bright sunlight! Ah well.

This outfit includes a few recent purchases for once – hooray! Although the glasses, tights, boots and skirt are all from 1-2 years ago. I recently got the boots mended for the second time, as they’re just so comfortable. Unfortunately my Clarks pair (review here) got a hole in the first day of wearing them, and apparently it was so bad they couldn’t be saved. So, quite disappointed really, especially as Clarks are meant to be a super durable brand! Maybe I need to invest in some DMs…

Also, to any of you who answered my red lipstick question on twitter: thank you! It was the push I needed to treat myself to MAC’s Ruby Woo. I have MAC Red, but it’s far too glossy and glam for daytime use. Ruby Woo is exactly what I was after. Yay!

I hope you’re all well. It’s been an exciting week – can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Outfit: My second public VBO.

2012-11-16 21.22.22

Image: Me (short, fat, long dark hair, glasses) wearing a white dress with big black polka dots

Dress: Primark
Boots: Clarks*

For the uninitiated, VBO stands for Visible Belly Outline. It started out as a joke on tumblr about making it a fashion accessory, and it’s snowballed from there! I bought this dress from Primark, which go to a 20, knowing it probably wouldn’t disguise my belly. I just wanted to try. But even though it was ridiculously tight, I kinda… liked it? I showed a few people, and they liked it too.

The thing is, as much as I’m a cheerleader for people who break fashion rules, and I think I’ve never been confident enough to do so myself. Even now I find myself apologising for people’s view before even realising what I’ve said. It’s just automatic.

But as scary as going out in the big, bad world is, there are pockets where it is a little bit safer. So I changed into this dress in the loos (was too scared to at the east end pub I went to beforehand) at Unskinny Bop and danced the night away alongside some of my best friends and lovely bloggers, and it was fab!

2012-11-16 21.23.12

Image: me (as before) only this time I have my hand on my hip.

I don’t know whether this dress will have a second outing, but I’m glad I wore it. As it turns out, I got tons of compliments!

Thanks Isha for the pictures! Also, I really need to take my camera everywhere instead of replying on my crappy iPhone camera. Gah!

OneOneThree – Ahhh!!!!

OneOneThree

Oh my glob, you guys. It finally happened.

After years of swooning over awesome independent designers in the US, Australia and mainland Europe, and being damned to shockingly expensive shipping costs and customs charges. Edgy independent fatshion has stepped up in the UK, in the name of OneOneThree. AT LAST. I’d seen murmurings of the name on twitter but only got a chance to have a look today, and my mind is a bit blown. I’ll just let the photos do the talking, eh?

I just can’t believe how on point it all is. Studs. Pleather. Collars. Illusions. It’s so exciting! Hence why I’m posting this in a rush – I just want you guys to see it!

The pieces aren’t up for sale yet, so make sure you keep in touch with them via twitter and facebook (where you can see the AMAZING photos). I’m just so happy someone in the UK is doing this!

Anyone else as excited as I am?
